On May 10th we had Patricia Soares da Costa – Branding Consultant at Marquinista, as their mentor.
We started the day with a flash pitch from each Startup so that Patricia could have an overall idea about their product.
The Mentor explored the theme of Value Communication and gave a workshop on Defining and Communicating Value Proposition.
This subject has a critical role in communicating how a company aims to provide value to customers. By understanding that “humans are very basic”, the solution lies in developing simple messages to communicate value.
“A brand is a promise of an experience.”
Patricia emphasized that we suffer from perceptionistis, which means that “we all suffer from an inflammation of our perception”.
“Your brand is not what you want it to be, I’m sorry, but it’s not. It’s what other people perceive when you communicate it.”
Do brands matter? A brand is a promise of an experience (e.g., trust) and is a system composed of many ingredients. How you see a product in the store, the way you have been greeted at the store, and the quality of the product, among others, are examples of outcomes.
The afternoon was dedicated to one-on-one mentoring.
