Leadership for Impact

The fifth week of Madeira Startup Retreat ’20 is here, and with it came the time to RE-invent your IMPACT.
On Monday, February 10th, Ricardo Zózimo – Assistant Professor of Management at NOVA SBE – joined our startups for the workshop Leadership for Impact… Impactful it was!
Distancing himself from classical talks and presentations, Ricardo took a collaborative approach to discuss with the entrepreneurs topics such as:
  • Learning Model
  • Personal Alignment
  • Growth Tensions
  • Reflection IN/ON/FOR Action
  • Persuasion
  • Gratitude
  • Benefits and Types of Gratitude
  • Growth vs. Fixed Mindset
  • Insights from the Business Model Canvas
  • Purpose
  • Impact and it’s Measures
  • Engagement with Society
  • Transformation of the world
  • Integration of Financial and Social Sustainability

All in all, it was a day of learning, reflecting and challenging themselves – both as people and as startups.

“Impact can be organizational, or personal – but it is achieved when it is about transformation, not just knowledge.”
“Sometimes the simplest of lessons can take the hardest of ways to learn.”
“Gratitude makes people come back, join you, help you. It makes people want to work with you, be your fans. Thanking people can create or strengthen bonds between people.”
