The demo day might have marked the end of the 2nd edition of Madeira Startup Retreat, but the entrepreneurs still weren’t ready to say their goodbyes.
On Thursday, March 28th, Chef Octávio Freitas – who had previously done a workshop on Gastronomic Globalization – welcomed the participants at the Four Views Baía Hotel for a live cooking demonstration.
The entrepreneurs helped to prepare the dishes, as Chef Octávio guided them through the necessary steps to cook a Snapper Fish Ceviche served with Sweet Potato Purée. The second plate was a delicious Black Scabbardfish ‘à Brás’, prepared with scabbardfish caviar mixed with shoestring fries and whisked eggs.
For almost three hours the hotel kitchen turned into a scene we’re all too familiar with: a group of friends hanging out in the kitchen, drinking wine and cooking. All of this while stories were shared with sincere laughs and amazing and delicious food.
